Sara Cowan, Artistic Director
Sara Cowan is the first Artistic Director of the Twin Cities Jewish Chorale. She holds a Master's Degree in Choral Conducting for the University of Minnesota, where she assisted in conducting the Women's Chorus and the Gospel Choir. In 2008, Ms. Cowan earned a B.A. in Music from Grinnell College, where she periodically conducted the Grinnell Singers, the Grinnell Symphony Orchestra, the Collegium Musicum Early Music Ensemble, and the Grinnell College Alumni Chorus. At Grinnell, Ms. Cowan was presented with the Hill Award for Outstanding Vocalist, and completed recitals in both vocal performance and choral conducting. An active member of ACDA and MMEA, Ms. Cowan has participated in the Minnesota Chorale's Emerging Conductor program as well as master classes with internationally known conductors, including Simon Halsey and Simone Fontanelli. Ms. Cowan currently teaches choral music at Laura Jeffrey Academy, an all-girls charter school in St. Paul, where she has over 150 students in choir. She is an active clinician and adjudicator for Twin Cities area choruses and vocal soloists, and she has also served as choral director for the City of Lakes Rotary Club. In addition to her volunteer choral activities, Ms. Cowan teaches Religious School at Temple Israel in Minneapolis.

Lynette Eastwold, Accompanist
Active as a performer and teacher in the Twin Cities, Lynette Eastwold is a graduate of St. Olaf College and completed graduate work at the University of Iowa and the University of St. Thomas. She plays regularly for area synagogues and Jewish community events and is an accompanist at many recitals and competitions. In addition, Ms. Eastwold maintains a large private piano studio.
