About Us
The TCJC was founded in the Fall of 2009 with the goal of becoming an artistically excellent, multigenerational community concert choir. Our mission is to perform the full range of Jewish music while providing outreach and education. More specifically, the TCJC aims to perform ancient and modern repertoire, liturgical and secular pieces, rarely performed works, and new compositions in a variety of languages, including Hebrew, Yiddish, Ladino, English, and others. We also look forward to collaborating with other choirs. We are excited to provide outreach and education by bringing to light the often unexplored Jewish musical repertoire and sharing these works with the community at large.

Here's what people are saying about the Twin Cities Jewish Chorale:

"The Twin Cities Jewish Chorale provides a very special and unique opportunity for members of our community from all congregations as well as unaffiliated across the Twin Cities who love Jewish music to come together to sing, study and perform the treasures of our incredible Jewish heritage. What a gift this group is for all of us. We are truly blessed to share in their musical gifts. On behalf of myself and the Minnesota Cantors Association, thank you for all of your interest and support." -- Cantor Barry Abelson, Temple Israel

"As an audience member that had the opportunity to see their first and most recent concert, I have been consistently impressed with the musical growth of the Twin Cities Jewish Chorale. Sara Cowan has markedly raised the level of tone, musicianship, and connection with the audience with every concert produced. I am amazed by the development of the singers in such a short span of time and am confident of their continued growth and success." -- Dr. Christopher Owen, Lecturer - University of Minnesota, Ensemble & Music Education Divisions

In our 2011-2012 Season, the Twin Cities Jewish Chorale will perform a Jewish Pops Concert on February 26, 2012, a Concert of Psalms on June 3, 2012, and outreach concerts during November and December 2011. See the News & Events page for details.
